Oil company's are spending millions in technology like this so in 20 years when the government bans the use of oil for gas(rather have it to make plastic, wouldn't you?) they will have a foothold already in the industry and try to expand it as much as possible to gain the advantage over others.

@grantkielyyyy That's why we need to use "Enhanced Geothermal System" to produce "free" electricity. I'm pretty sure you don't know what "Enhanced Geothermal System" is and don't expect to ear about it. We can also produce electricity with? wind,waves,tidal power,solar and hydro. You have companies making billions polluting the earth,do you think they're going to give that up?

Using Hydrogen to create electricity to power an electric motor doesn't seem like lots of work to people. Don't let it fool you. The technology is tedious and the net result only generates tiny? amounts of electricity. If the Hydrogen Cell can really create a tremendous amount of electricity then awesome!!

@grantkielyyyy dude, that is not true! photovoltaics pay their own price in 5 years just by selling excess electricity back to the grid, having PV on the roof is a big investment (much smaller than a car....), but it's quite possible. Then you can choose to electrolyze water at home? or sell the electricity to the grid, depending on what favors you most, and you can make your own H2 from the sun (using a home wind-turbine works same way)

How much power to mass does a fuel cell produced, compared to a full blown combustion engine? I'm pretty sure it requires a lot more mass &? space to produce the same power.

No, because the emissions of these engines are mostly comprised of water (which will in turn evaporate back into the atmosphere), and this planet is covered 70% in? water. I highly doubt we'll ever 'run out'.

no, thers also the argument of hydro-carbon fusion being more? effective thane hydrogen fusion, carbon has 6 protons hydrogen has 1. it might be more effecient but the process of nucler fuseing 2 hyro-carbon, molcules together is highly unstable.
